“Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.” –Søren Kierkegaard
Hi, I’m Jake Knell. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
I am passionate about helping people navigate their lives using thoughtful, evidence-based approaches tailored to who they are. I came to this work through behavioral health, supporting adults and children with disabilities during some of their most vulnerable seasons. Those experiences shaped me in lasting ways. I learned how much steadiness, patience, and genuine human connection matter when someone feels overwhelmed or stuck. Today, I work with couples and individuals, 14 and up, creating spaces that feel safe, collaborative, and grounded in mutual respect—with a healthy dash of humor and levity.
My approach to therapy is existential. Together, we’ll explore what it means to be you and how your experiences have shaped your story. I firmly believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as we make sense of what feels heavy, strengthen what is already resilient, and move toward a life that feels more honest and aligned. I am honored to sit with people as they discover and rediscover their agency, their voice, and the parts of themselves that have been waiting to be heard.
If this resonates with you or you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My door is open.
