As part of receiving therapy services, we may send you various communications related to your care. These communications may include information on getting started with care, appointment reminders, administrative messages, and other service-related messages (“Communications”). We use electronic forms of communication, including but not limited to:
- Messages via our secure portal. You will receive an email from TherapyAppointment letting you know there is a NEW MESSAGE waiting for you within your portal.
- emails to the address provided during your portal registration and sign-up.
- Short message service (“SMS”) text messages from your therapist to the mobile number provided in your portal.
The wireless carriers used to send SMS messages from your therapist are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to update your phone number with Emmaus to continue receiving messages. Emmaus cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of SMS messages, as there is a risk of interception by third parties. SMS messages may contain a minimum amount of protected health information (PHI). The number of SMS messages sent will depend on the frequency of your services. Standard message and data rates may apply.
