As part of receiving therapy services, we may send you various communications related to your care. These communications may include information on getting started with care, appointment reminders, administrative messages, and other service-related messages (“Communications”). We use electronic forms of communication, including but not limited to:
- HIPAA COMPLIANT SECURE PORTAL MESSAGES: You will receive an email from TherapyAppointment notifying you of a new message. All our notifications and communications come from no-reply@therapyappointment.com. Please make sure to add the above email as a “safe sender”.
- EMAIL: Portal registration links are sent via email to the address provided during your portal registration and sign-up. You will also have the option to receive appointment reminders via email. As you are aware communications via email over the internet are not secure. Although it is unlikely, there is a possibility that information you include in an email can be intercepted and read by other parties besides the person to whom it is addressed. Please do not include personal identifying information such as your birth date, or personal medical information in any emails you send to us.
- TEXT MESSAGES: While our Business Office does not utilize texting our therapists may send a short message service (“SMS”) to the mobile number provided in your portal. Please note that wireless carriers used to send SMS messages from your therapist are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number and update your phone number with Emmaus if you obtain a new mobile number to continue receiving messages. Emmaus cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of SMS messages, as there is a risk of interception by third parties. SMS messages may contain a minimal amount of protected health information (PHI). The frequency of SMS messages sent will depend on your service needs. Standard message and data rates may apply.
