I use a strengths based approach in which I seek to help you natural gifts and talents shine.  I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and feel that this is main driving force behind counseling.  This means I will come along side of you, try and help you feel heard and that your story has meaning and value and try and create a safe space where you can share anything that helps guide you towards your recovery or enrichment of life.  In working with children and teens, I seek to be a voice in their lives of acceptance, consistency, respect, caring and hope for their present and futures.  If they don’t have the hope for themselves yet I seek to hold that hope with them and for them so that they can take on their version of it.  I like many theories of counseling and apply them to help you heal and grow in the relationships in your life, relationship to self, family and others.  I can also provide therapy from a spiritual perspective if this is what you desire.” – Aaron Matthias
